At first sight Kemper’s “Comped” appears like the super cool great-grandchild of the historic mockup. It is a creative reinterpretation of the Pedersen principle with compact dimensions, 20” impellers and 50-millimeter Big Apple wheels.
Modern balloon tyres combine smooth running and breakdown security with high suspension comfort. Combined with the hanged saddle they do this so convincing at the Pedersen, that you actually don’t even want to descend – at best to have a look at the beautiful bike as a whole.
The upright sitting posture on our Comped is quite similar to one on a 28” model.
The small broad wheel’s ride comfort conveys a sparkling blend of safety and agility. The broad wheels lie full on the road and are at the same time so easy to maneuver, that you want to corner sharply constantly.
On forest paths and country lanes the small Pedersen turns out to be a real fun bike. It is possible to speed those tracks with unforeseen velocities, without the need to contact the chiropractor the following day. Not even if you already have cool grandchildren.
